FAYETTE COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – One person was killed in a train accident Friday evening in Fayette County, according to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. on July 4 near Boonesborough Road.

Sheriff Jess McMullen said deputies responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a train.
Preliminary findings indicate that a man was walking along the railroad tracks when he was hit by an oncoming train.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene, but the man was pronounced dead upon arrival.
Authorities are withholding the victim’s identity at this time out of respect for the family.
The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to investigate the incident.
