BRANCHLAND, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Branchland man died after a lawn mower accident Saturday in Lincoln County, according to the West Virginia State Police.
Troopers from the West Virginia State Police Hamlin Detachment responded to a residence on Isaacs Lane on June 6 after Lincoln County 911 dispatched them to investigate a reported death.
The investigation found that Barry Brunty, 62, was operating a zero-turn mower when it reportedly slid over an embankment and into a creek, trapping him underneath the machine.
Emergency responders, including state troopers, performed CPR at the scene before Brunty was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center for additional treatment. Despite lifesaving efforts, he later died from his injuries.
State Police said Brunty’s family has been notified of his death.
Investigators do not suspect foul play. The incident remains under investigation by the West Virginia State Police.
