WOOD COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Parkersburg woman was killed Wednesday evening in a two-vehicle crash at a Wood County intersection, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the crash occurred around 7:35 p.m. on Dec. 31 at the intersection of Murphytown Road and Robert Byrd Highway (U.S. Route 50).
Emergency crews from the Eastwood Volunteer Fire Department and Camden Clark Ambulance Service also responded to the scene.
Investigators determined that 42-year-old Ashley Perry of Parkersburg was driving a 2024 Lexus sedan and was attempting to turn left from Murphytown Road onto westbound Route 50 when her vehicle was struck broadside by an eastbound 2020 Jeep Wrangler driven by Hanna Demoss.
Perry sustained fatal injuries as a result of the collision and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities said no criminal charges will be filed in connection with the crash.
The Wood County Sheriff’s Office said it extends its condolences to Perry’s family and friends.
