SISSONVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A woman was arrested after stealing a Kanawha County Ambulance this morning in the Dunbar Area.
According to police, Kanawha County Sheriff’s (KCSO) Deputies were alerted just before 6:00 a.m. that the Kanawha County Emergency Ambulance Authority (KEA) ambulance had been stolen from 1000 Myers Avenue in Dunbar.
Medics were inside a residence for an emergency medical call and returned to find the ambulance gone.
The ambulance is equipped with GPS capabilities and deputies were quickly able to locate the stolen ambulance in the Sissonville area.
When deputies attempted to stop the ambulance, the driver fled and led deputies in a brief pursuit that ended on Ogden Hill Road in Sissonville.
Deputy H.K. Burdette arrested 34-year-old Amanda Dale Holstein of Dunbar for one felony count of grand larceny of an automobile, one felony count of driving under the influence while fleeing, and one felony count of fleeing with reckless indifference.
Holstein was arraigned in Kanawha County Magistrate Court where a bond was set for $10,000.00 or 10% cash.
Holstein is currently being held at South Central Regional Jail. The KCSO says that as always, suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
