LEWIS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Authorities responded to a domestic incident on High Street after a woman reported concerns about her child’s safety.
Corporal George Jones arrived at the scene and spoke with the complainant, who stated that she had repeatedly tried to contact Dylan Sharples (the defendant)—the father of her child—through phone calls and text messages but received no response.
Worried, she went to his residence and found their one-year-old child sitting in a high chair in the living room. She then discovered Sharples unconscious in the bedroom next to a smoking device consistent with drug use. After waking him and asking about the device, Sharples appeared lethargic and confused before leaving the residence following a brief argument.
Officers field-tested the smoking apparatus, which tested positive for methamphetamine. Authorities are continuing their investigation.
