HINTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – An investigation into an overdose situation on Monday has led to charges relating to possession of illicit substances for one individual.
Chief Deputy T.S. Adkins of the Summers County Sheriff’s Department reports that, on Monday, June 5, 2023, Summers County Sheriff J.L. Faris responded to a reported overdose call.
An investigation was conducted into the situation, during which one individual – identified as Matthew Danberry, 37 years old of Greenbrier County – was discovered to have had a firearm in his possession.
According to authorities, Danberry is permitted from possessing a firearm, which led to a subsequent search. During the search, Danberry was additionally discovered to have been in possession of both Fentanyl and Methamphetamine.
Danberry was was arrested for persons prohibited firearm possession as well as possession with intent to deliver Fentanyl and Methamphetamine.
Danberry was taken into custody and transported to Southern Regional Jail where he remains on a $50,000 bond.
The status of the investigation into the reported overdose itself, as well as the condition of any individuals who may have been involved, has yet to be disclosed by authorities familiar with the situation.
