CLENDENIN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Two individuals were arrested over the weekend at the “Hot Spot” lounge after leaving their juvenile children in a car.
According to the Clendenin Police Department, on Saturday June 24th, 2023, officers discovered a vehicle which was found to have an expired inspection sticker, among other issues.
Inside the vehicle, two juvenile children ages 4 and 11 were reportedly located. The parents of the children purportedly had been inside the “Hot Spot” lounge playing video lottery machines, leaving the children inside the vehicle for “approximately 15-20” minutes.
Justin Michael Collins and Katelyn Adele Lowe were ultimately arrested on two counts of Child Neglect and one count of Obstructing an Officer. Collins also accrued charges with on one count each of having an Expired Motor Vehicle Inspection Sticker, Improper Registration, and No Insurance.
Following the arrest of the parents, the children were released to a family member and Child Protective Services were contacted.
