Pearley Lou Gross Angell, 66 of Hinton, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, October 1, 2023 at Thomas Memorial Hospital in South Charleston following a long illness.
Born April 17, 1957 in Hinton, WV she was the daughter of the late Roland V. and Ethel Mae Adkins Gross.
Pearley was a 1975 graduate of Hinton High School and was a homemaker. She was a lifelong resident of Summers County, a member of Beech Run Baptist Church in Hinton, where her husband was Pastor and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Pearley enjoyed gardening, cooking, spending time with family and loved the outdoors.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Michael, Jim, Billy and Tommy Gross.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, O.B. “Sonny” Angell, Jr.; one son, Kevin Gross of Hurricane, WV; two daughters, Michelle Gross of Hinton and Leslie Gross and husband Spencer Gray of Hinton; two brothers, Ronnie Gross of White Oak, WV and Jerry Gross of Big Island, VA; six sisters, Phyllis Manderschield and husband Don of Spokane, WA, Dixie Bennett of Nimitz, WV, Shirley Cobaugh and husband Chuck of Akron, OH, Jo Ann Burks of Big Island, VA, Darlene Ludwig and husband David of Fayetteville, WV and Lola Gross of Hinton; two stepsons, Scott Angell of Hinton and Steve Angell and wife Michelle of Hinton; 13 grandchildren, Ayana and Akira Graves, Natalia and Amirah Brown, Ashleigh and Alanna Gross, Jaylen and Julian “Shug” Keaton, Alexa Clark, Madison Gore, Aries Williams and Gage Leftwich; 2 great grandchildren, Lennox Richmond and Carter Clark, along with a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Services to celebrate Pearley’s life will be held at 4:00 Thursday October 5, 2023 at Pivont Funeral Home Chapel in Hinton with her husband, Pastor Sonny Angell, officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
