CROSS LANES, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A tragic traffic incident in Cross Lanes claimed the life of a pedestrian early Monday morning, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred around 5:11 a.m. at Tudor’s/Gino’s, located at 106 Goff Mountain Road.
Deputies and crash investigators determined that Dennis Eugene Taylor, 86, of Cross Lanes, was operating a mobility scooter and attempting to cross Goff Mountain Road from Cadle Drive when he was struck by a southbound vehicle.
Mr. Taylor sustained critical injuries and was transported to Thomas Memorial Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office Reconstruction Team is currently investigating the incident. As of now, no charges have been filed against the driver of the vehicle involved.
