POCAHONTAS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Pocahontas County residents in several communities will experience a planned power outage next month as utility crews perform electrical system upgrades.
According to Pocahontas County Homeland Security & Emergency Management, FirstEnergy/MonPower has scheduled the outage for Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. The planned outage will allow crews to upgrade electrical equipment.
Customers in the Modoc, Jacox, Lobelia, Droop, Hillsboro, Denmar, Seebert, Watoga, Mill Point and Buckeye areas are expected to be affected.
If inclement weather prevents the work from taking place as scheduled, the outage will be rescheduled for Wednesday, July 22, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Emergency management officials said all affected customers should receive notification before the scheduled outage.
