CHARLES TOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The 29th Annual Jefferson County African American Cultural & Heritage Parade will begin at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 19th, in the downtown business district of Charles Town.
The parade will enter the City of Charles Town on North George Street (WV Route 115) and turn right onto West Washington Street (WV Route 51).
The parade will continue westbound on West Washington Street and turn left onto South Lawrence Street where it will disband near the intersection of West Congress Street and South Lawrence Street.
Parking restrictions will be in place along the parade route, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Vehicles not removed from the posted parade route will be towed at the owner’s expense.
Officers and city employees will be providing traffic control at various intersections to assist with the flow of vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
Charles Town Police ask that motorists please use caution and be patient when traveling through the downtown area during this time as delays are expected.
