UPDATE: Additional details regarding a bank robbery which occurred on Wednesday in the Summersville area have been released by authorities.
According to Lieutenant Anderson of the Summersville Police Department, Summersville law enforcement received reports of a robbery in progress on Wednesday, with details indicating that the suspect involved was armed with a weapon or weapons.
Initial reports indicate that the suspect passed a note to a bank teller at the Summersville First Community Bank location stating that he was, in fact, armed and was demanding money. The suspect was reportedly still at the scene of the incident at the time Summersville officers were receiving initial reports.
Anderson points out that additional law enforcement officers, including Trooper Bostick with the West Virginia State Police and Sgt. Harper with the Summersville Police Department, had been nearby at the time of these reports.
These two officers are said to have made entry to the bank and successfully detained the suspect before the robbery could be fully enacted.
The suspect involved has been identified as Nicholas Reese Coale, born 4/17/1993 of Ohio, and an investigation into the situation is currently being conducted by Trooper Bostick with the WVSP.
Coale has been charged with Bank Robbery and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
It was confirmed by law enforcement that no individuals were hurt or injured as a result of the attempted robbery.

SUMMERSVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Authorities have confirmed on Wednesday a bank robbery which took place in the Nicholas County area.
Indication was provided by the Summersville Police Department that a robbery occurred at First Community Bank in Summersville.
According to law enforcement, a suspect has not only been identified in connection to the incident but has also reportedly been taken into custody.
Details pertaining to the specific identity of the perpetrator as well as the exact nature of the incident itself have yet to be released at the time of writing.
