MORGANTOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Morgantown Police Department is investigating a violent assault that took place on Walnut Street in the early hours of November 1, 2024.
Around 4:20 a.m., a man was attacked while seated in a doorway on Walnut Street.

Police report that two male suspects approached the victim and launched an unprovoked assault.
One of the attackers struck the man with a blunt object, believed to be similar to a baseball bat, while the other suspect stabbed him multiple times in the back.
Following the attack, the suspects fled south on foot toward Spruce Street.
Emergency Medical Services responded swiftly to the scene, providing the victim with immediate medical attention before transporting him to Ruby Memorial Hospital.
The Morgantown Police Department is asking anyone with information to assist in their investigation by contacting the Detective Unit at 304-284-7454.
The city is also encouraging residents to take part in its “Partner in Policing” initiative, urging citizens to report any suspicious activity.
