CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Charleston Police Department is asking for the public’s help in an investigation after officers found a dog tied up near the Kanawha River.
According to the department’s Criminal Investigation Division, officers and Charleston Humane Officers responded to the area of Kanawha Boulevard East and Bradford Street on October 29, 2025, after receiving reports of a dog tied close to the water.
The animal was safely rescued from the riverbank.
Investigators believe the dog was intentionally abandoned and are now seeking information to identify the owner.
