WILLIAMSTOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Williamstown police are searching for a Clarksburg woman wanted on child neglect charges after a 23-month-old girl was hospitalized for methamphetamine exposure.
According to the Williamstown Police Department, officers opened an investigation into Alexis Rachele Thompson, 35, in October.
On Oct. 5, police were dispatched to Camden Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg after hospital staff reported that a toddler had tested positive for meth exposure. The child was later flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown for further treatment.
Following the hospital visit, investigators executed a search warrant at the victim’s grandmother’s apartment on Highland Avenue in Parkersburg.
Police said items collected at the residence were sent to the West Virginia State Police laboratory for testing and later confirmed to contain methamphetamine. Warrants were then issued for Thompson’s arrest.
Thompson is described as 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 125 pounds. She has hazel eyes and dark hair.
