PRATT, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Pratt Volunteer Fire Department has been temporarily shut down by the West Virginia State Fire Marshal’s Office due to an issue with insurance notifications, the department announced Monday.
According to the department, the closure was caused by the insurance company failing to send proper notices regarding policy changes.
However, department officials and the board of directors have already addressed the issue with their insurance carrier and expect it to be resolved by today.
During the temporary closure, fire protection for Pratt residents will be provided by the East Bank Volunteer Fire Department and the Montgomery Fire Department.
