James Monroe 9, Greenbrier West 7
Charmco – James Monroe built a seven run lead and held off Greenbrier West 9-7 Monday night.
Junior Jones had a home run and a double among his three hits and drove in three runs to lead the Mavericks. Matthew Stutts and Cooper Ridgeway each two hits, including a triple and a double, respectively.
Cole Vandall had a double and two RBI for the Cavaliers, while Brayden McClung hit a double, a single and had one RBI.
David Lester also had a pair of hits and an RBI for West.
Midland Trail 12, Summers County 1 (5 innings)
Hico – Midland Trail exploded for 12 runs over the first three innings en route to a 12-1 win over Summers County in five innings.
Gideon Bragg hit a home run and drove in three runs and Bo Persinger also had a three-RBI night to lead the Patriots. Alex Dempsey had three hits, including a double for Trail, while Will McGraw also had a double, a single and drove in two runs.
Larry Bigham pitched allowed one hit over his three scoreless innings of work. Aaron Dempsey came on to pitch the final two innings and did not allow a hit.
