The Flying Eagles (12-10) exploded for five runs in the fifth inning to defeat regional rival George Washington 5-3 Saturday at Linda K. Epling Stadium.
Blake Nixon had two RBI in the win, while Ty Evans, Maddex Sims and Andrew Gallaher had two hits each.
Gallaher picked up the complete game win scattering seven hits and allowing just two earned runs.
Liberty 12, Elk Valley Christian 1
Liberty 18, Van 8
Liberty picked up a pair of wins Saturday in Glen Danial with a 12-1 win over Elk Valley Christian and an 18-8 win over Van. Both games ended after five innings.
Landon Hall was perfect on the day with six hits ion six trips to the plate. Hall drove in six runs and scored five times to lead the Raiders (8-11).
Talan McGraw hit three triples and had two RBI, while I Davis had two doubles and four RBI. Colton Tolliver had four hits and knocked in four runs. Chase Shea had three hits on the day, including a double and three RBI.
Brayden Keith did not allow a hit and fanned seven in the win over Elk Valley to go along with three hits and two RBI.
