Independence 18, Liberty 1
Coal City – Independence scored in every inning Wednesday, beating Liberty 18-1 in an elimination game in Coal City.
Clay Basham and J.D. Monroe noticed three hits each with the former driving in four runs and the latter three.
Liberty had five different players with a hit each in the loss.
Independence will travel to Shady Spring tomorrow in an elimination game for both teams.
Greenbrier West 21, Pocahontas County 4
Charmco – Greenbrier West turned 15 hits and 13 errors into a comfortable 21-4 victory over Pocahontas County Wednesday in Charmco.
Brayden McClung led the charge with five RBIs for West while Dale Boone collected three hits.
The Cavaliers will host Richwood Thursday in an elimination game.
Greater Beckley 10, Summers County 2
Hinton – Greater Beckley pulled away late Wednesday, earning a 10-2 win over Summers County in the sectional tournament in Hinton.
Hunter Crist drove in four runs for the Crusaders while Eli Grubb added three RBIs and hits.
Crist and Reece Patterson launched home runs in the win.
Jake Boone led Summers with two hits in the loss.
