Independence 15, Palmyra-Macedon (NY) 6
Burgess, S.C. – Independence built a quick 5-0 lead after two at-bats and never trailed on its way to a 15-6 win over Palmyra-Macedon High School (0-2) from New York in the South Atlantic Bank Invitational.
Levi Barnett smacked a home run and a double with one RBI, while Blake Stratton added a double and a single, knocking in four runs to lead the Patriots (4-4).
Cole Cunningham picked up the win on the hill and also had three hits and two RBI. Micah Cuthbert had a two hit day with one RBI and Justin Williams hit a double.
Hunter Milam added a double and two RBI for Indy who plays Atlantic Shores Friday at 11:30 a.m.

Shady Spring 7, St. Maria Goretti (MD) 6
Myrtle Beach, S.C. – Shady Spring scored four runs in the fifth innings and held on to beat Goretti High School from Maryland, 7-6 in the South Atlantic Bank Invitational.
Glenville State signee Jake Meadows collected three hits, scored three times and picked up the win on the mound to lead the Tigers. Meadows allowed just one earned run and fanned 10 Gaels.
Aiden Calvert had two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs, while Sam Barnett collected two hits and had one RBI.
Kaiden Helmer, Carter Pack and Mookie Cox had one RBI apiece.

PikeView 12, Cassadaga Valley (NY) 0 (5 innings)
Pawley’s Island, S.C. – Eli Hilling pitched a one-hit shutout over five innings and struck out 10 batters to lead PikeView to a 12-0 win over Cassadaga, N.Y. in the South Atlantic Invitational.
Sam Lyle had a double, a single and drove in three runs, while Deuce Rompon collected two hits and also drove in three runs.
Zach Rose had a two-RBI day and Christian Walters hit a double for the Panthers (10-3).
