Shady Spring 11, Liberty 0
Shady Spring – Shady Spring pitchers Sam Barnett and Cash McCall combined to toss a no-hitter Tuesday as Shady Spring beat Liberty 11-0 in the sectional tournament in Shady Spring.
With the win Shady, the reigning section champion, will host Nicholas County Wednesday with a spot in the sectional title game on the line. Liberty will travel to Independence in an elimination game.
McCall and Colten Tate led the charge at the plate with two hits each for the Tigers while Aiden Calvert drove in two runs.
Nicholas County 15, Independence 11
Summersville – Nicholas County pounded out 14 hits to earn a 15-11 victory over Independence Tuesday in Summersville.
With the win Nicholas will travel to Shady Spring Wednesday with a spot in the section title game on the line. Independence stands one game away from elimination and will host Liberty hoping to avoid it.
Garrett Kesterson led the Grizzlies with three hits in the win.
Clay Basham drove in four runs for Indy with J.D. Monroe notching three hits.
Midland Trail 4, Greenbrier West 1
Hico – Midland Trail scored all four of its runs in the sixth inning Tuesday, earning a 4-1 win over Greenbrier West Tuesday in Charmco.
With the win Trail will face Charleston Catholic Wednesday with a spot in the sectional title game on the line.
West sits one game form elimination and will host Pocahontas County.
Bo Persinger picked up the win for Trail and drove in two runs, blasting a homer.
Dale Boone drove in West’s only run of the game.
