Bluefield – The strive for five comes with an advantage this year.
Bluefield blasted Mingo Central 71-49 Wednesday evening in the Class AA Region3 co-final punching its ticket to the state tournament in the process.
The Beavers earned the No. 1 overall seed and will face No. 8 Braxton County Thursday March 14 at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
Kam’Ron Gore led the assault for Bluefield with a game-high 26 points while R.J. Hairston netted 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.
Mingo was led by Ethan Thomason who netted 20 in the loss.
