Elkview – Herbert Hoover rolled up 27points in the opening quarter and went on to defeat sectional rival Nicholas County 87-68 Wednesday.
Eli Robertson exploded for a game-high 32 points for the AAA No. 9 ranked Huskies (11-6) and Dane Hatfield added 23. Sam Phillips scored 10 and Camron Buckner had nine.
Ethan Collins paced the Grizzlies (7-7) with 17 points, while Bryar Bailes had 16 and Cole Brown chipped in 13 points. Jaxston Morriston netted nine.
Nicholas County travels to Sissonville Friday.
