Summersville – West Logan built a 10-point lead through three quarters and fended off a rally from Mercer Christian to secure a 48-45 win and advance to the WVCAT boys championship game Saturday at 5 p.m.
Nick Knox led West Logan with 12 points and Jacob Walls scored 11. Zayden Sherod, Jordan Adams and James Scites all scored six points each.
M.J. Patton had 15 points for Mercer Christian, while Sam Boothe scored 13 points and Briar Lucas added nine points and grabbed seven rebounds.
Mercer Christian will play Cross Lanes Christian in the 3rd-place game at 3:30 p.m., while West Logan will meet Calvary Baptist in the title game.

Summersville – Three-time defending WVCAT boys champion Calvary Baptist will look to make it four in a row Saturday after knocking off Cross Lanes Christian 52-36 Friday in the semifinal round.
Stevie Hicks scored 17 to lead Calvary and Isaiah Bosley added 15 points. Dallas Johnson chipped in seven and Mason Black had six.
Boston Myers led Cross Lanes with 11 points and Jon Dillon scored eight. Sam Mulanax added seven and Gavin Osborne scored six.
Calvary Baptist and West Logan will square of at 5 p.m. for the boys WVCAT crown.

Summersville – After dropping a double-overtime thriller Thursday night, Mount Hope Christian needed an extra session Friday’s consolation clash with Grace Christian.
This time the Warriors were on positive side of a 70-65 win.
Josiah McKoy scored a game-high 29 points for Mount Hope, while Branson Miller poured in 20 points and Nolan Carney had 13.
Jonathan Holderby led Grace Christian with 22 points. David Wiebe scored 16 and Caleb Romans added 11.
Mount Hope Christian will play Victory Baptist Academy Saturday at 2 p.m. in the 5th-place game.

Summersville – Victory Baptist Academy erased an eight-point halftime deficit by outscoring Greater Beckley 47-24 in the second half en route to a 71-56 win in the boys consolation round of the WVCAT.
Ethan Hunt led four Saints in double figures with 19 points, while Micah Thomas and Landon Cormican followed closely with 18 points apiece. Noah Childers had 12.
John Rose paced Greater Beckley with 25 points and Landon Rose added 10. Aaron hall chipped in eight fot the Crusaders.
Victory Baptist will play Mount Hope Christian Saturday at 2 p.m. in the 5th-place game.
