Midland Trail 22, Clay County 14
Clay – Jayden Roop ran the ball 21 times for 132 yards and three scores to lead Midland Trail to a 22-14 road victory over Class AA Clay County Friday.
Jayden Gladwell was 6-for-10 for 125 yards for the Patriots who return home to play Tolsia Friday.
Will McGraw had 10 tackles on defense, two for loss and an interception. Landon Syner also had an interception for Trail.
Point Pleasant 26, Greenbrier East 7
Point Pleasant – The Big Blacks scored 20 unanswered points in the second half to defeat Greenbrier East 26-7 Friday.
Jason Hughes had two rushing touchdowns, while Nate Bentz and Brody Bowen had one each to lead Point Pleasant.
Carter Hamilton scored on a three-yard run for the Spartans (0-1) who travel to Beckley next Friday for a battle with longtime rival Woodrow Wilson (1-0).
