Pendleton County 11, Greenbrier West 5
Moorefield – Seven errors doomed Greenbrier West Saturday in an 11-5 loss to Pendleton County at the Bob Riggleman Memorial Tournament.
Preslee Treadway was the bright spot for the Cavaliers with a home run, a double and three RBI.
Jenna Smith and Alley Vance had three RBI each for Pendleton who gave West its first loss of the season.
St. Albans 9, Independence 1 (5 innings)
Wahama 11, Independence 3 (5 innings)
St. Albans – Independence dropped a doubleheader Saturday with both game ending in five innings. The Patriots fell 9-1 to the Red Dragons and 11-3 to the White Falcons.
Kendall Martin, Alli Hypes, Kassidy Bradbury and Harmony Mills each had a hit in the St. Albans setback. Sydney Young hit a home run for the Red Dragons.
Emma Lilly had a double and two RBI against Wahama. Mills and Bradbury also had a double for Indy. Mikie Lieving had a home run, a double and three RBI to lead Wahama.
George Washington 6, Greenbrier East 1
Charleston – Greenbrier East had more hits than George Washington, but the Patriots had the bigger number where it mattered in a 6-1 win.
Lindsey Black had two hits including a double for the Spartans, while Olivia Plybon added two hits and Josi Ervin had a double. Taylor Boswell drove in the lone Greenbrier East run.
Passion Holley, Alexis Adkins and Karalyne Wade hit homers for G-Dub who never trailed in the contest.
