Championship Saturday at the WVSSAC State Volleyball Tournament has been finalized with the completion of Friday’s semifinal matches.
There will be a new champion in Class A, while Shady Spring will defend last year’s title in Class AA and Musselman will look to go back-to-back in Class AAA.
The Class AA clash will be a repeat for the 2020 championship match between the Tigers and Philip Barbour.
Shady won 3-0 last year and the two teams split their regular season clashes.
Musselman and Hedgesville will meet for the Class AAA title after the Applemen defeated George Washington and the Eagles defeated Morgantown. Both matches were 3-1 wins.
Musselman has defeated Hedgesville four times this season. Three times by a 3-1 margin and the other was a 3-2 win.
The Class A battle will be a match up of Little Kanawha Conference schools, Ritchie County and Williamstown.
The Rebels won both encounters with the Yellowjackets in the regular season.
The Class A match will start at 9:30 a.m. with the Class AA match starting 45 minutes after the conclusion of the opening match. The Class AAA match will follow the AA tussle.
