Clear Fork – Wyoming East beat PikeView 3-1 (25-21, 25-22, 19-25, 25-11), Tuesday night, claiming the Class AA Region 3, Section 1 title in a tilt at Westside.
PikeView defeated Westside in the opening match of the night before falling to the Lady Warriors in a rematch of last year’s sectional title game.
The win marked the second consecutive sectional title for East, and third overall in program history.
Carli Raye (22), Maggie Trent (15), Kaitlyn Trent (15) and Julia Williams (10) all recorded double digit kills to lead the Warriors net attack. Maggie Trent also had five blocks and Kaitlyn Trent recorded three blocks.
Williams was solid all-around with 22 digs and 23 serve receptions.
Freshmen Kaelyn Meadows and Kenzie McGraw combined for 39 digs in their first postseason action. Meadows recorded 10 receptions and McGraw added eight assists on the night.
Sophomore Karlee Lusk had 12 digs, five assists, three aces and 14 receptions, while freshman Lauren Staton served up 22 assists.
Wyoming East and PikeView both advance to the Region 3 tournament Saturday played at Independence High School.
The Panthers will play the winner of AA Region 3, Section 2, while the Warriors will battle the runner-up.
The two teams that advance to the regional final will both qualify for the state volleyball tournament in Charleston, Nov. 8-9.
