PRINCETON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Princeton Health Care Center has announced a preliminary award of $10 million in Congressionally Directed Spending Funds to be directed toward the construction of a new skilled nursing facility to be erected in Mercer County.
Confirmation came from the office of Senator Shelley Moore Capito on Friday, August 2, 2024, PHCC said this week. The planned facility will be utilized to better to accommodate the needs of current community members and residents throughout Mercer County.
Princeton Health Center CEO/Administrator, Stefanie Compton expressed gratitude to Senator Capito and Senator Manchin, stating that the $10 million in funds would allow for increased amenities for local residents.
“This is an incredible milestone for Princeton Health Care Center. Once finalized, this will allow us to make huge leaps toward a new facility that will allow for additional private rooms, increased infection prevention measures, and many new amenities for both short-term rehabilitation and long-term care residents,” she said.
“We are so appreciative of the consideration of Senator Shelley Moore Capito, Senator Joe Manchin, and the appropriation committee for recognizing this need and offering the support to make our new facility a reality.”
The reported subsequent steps in the process of attaining the Congressionally Directed Spending funds will entail the House of Representatives and Senate to reach an agreement with regard to draft bills reported by each chamber for appropriations for the Fiscal Year of 2025 to be signed into law.
