PRINCEWICK, WV (LOOTPRESS) — A late-night domestic dispute in Princewick led to the arrest of a man now facing serious charges, including domestic battery and strangulation, after allegedly attacking his wife during a heated argument.
Authorities were dispatched to 1288 Epperly Road just before midnight on July 10. By the time they arrived around 12:25 a.m. on July 11, officers made contact with the victim, who was outside the home. She told deputies that she and her husband, William Osborne, had been drinking and arguing when the situation turned physical.
She claimed she had tried to remove a necklace she had given William, prompting him to become aggressive. She pointed out visible injuries on her face, including a red mark on her nose and throat, and told officers that during the altercation, William had grabbed her, slammed her face into the kitchen counter, and choked her from behind until she briefly blacked out.
Inside the home, officers noted disarray consistent with a struggle — including broken plastic storage totes. She stated the damage occurred during the altercation and that William had caused it.
William Osborne, who initially remained inside the home, eventually came outside and claimed the incident started after she poured bleach on his clothes and hit him. Officers observed only a minor scratch on his back. He also presented a video recording of the incident, but it reportedly only showed the verbal argument, not the physical assault.
After assessing the injuries and hearing the victim’s account, deputies determined William Osborne to be the primary aggressor. He was taken into custody without incident, processed at the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office, and transported to Southern Regional Jail.
Osborne is facing charges of Domestic Battery and Strangulation.
