FAYETTEVILLE, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Saturday night out took a violent detour at Maggie’s Pub when a patron, allegedly denied entry, returned with fists flying—landing one man in bruises and another in legal hot water.
At approximately 11:14 p.m. on March 29, 2025, Fayetteville Police officers Patrolman M.S. Kees and Patrolman J.P. Hannigan were dispatched to Maggie’s Pub on Keller Avenue after a report of an altercation that had already wrapped up by the time they arrived.
Waiting for officers in the parking lot was a victim, who was bruised, bloodied, and visibly shaken. He claimed that Caleb Sedlock, 40, had attacked him without warning, repeatedly punching him in the face and head after pulling him out of the bar.
Emergency services were called to assess the victim’s injuries, which included facial bruising, forehead scratches, a bloody nostril, and a punctured lower lip. Though medics arrived promptly, the victim ultimately refused treatment.
Witnesses backed up the victim’s version of events. One stated that Sedlock initially tried to enter the bar without ID, left when refused, then returned with a passport—only to be reminded he was already banned from the establishment. When told to leave, Sedlock allegedly grew confrontational, prompting them to call for help.
“I asked the victim to come out because [Sedlock] acted like he was going to hit me,” the person recounted. “He then grabbed the victim and started fighting him.”
Another victim added, “Caleb showed up to Maggie’s and pulled the victim outside and started fighting him.”
By the time police arrived, Sedlock had already fled the scene in a blue Ford Escape, but authorities wasted no time in issuing a charge of battery and tresspassing.
