RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Raleigh County Commission has formally recognized the Coal City Volunteer Fire Department and Coal City Emergency Medical Services for their heroic actions in rescuing a trapped fire victim.
On March 8, 2025, members of both emergency response teams rushed to the scene of a fire where a victim was unable to escape.
Through swift action, expert training, and bravery, the first responders successfully saved the individual, ensuring their safety.
In a resolution adopted on April 1, the county commission praised the firefighters and EMS personnel for their dedication to public service and their extraordinary commitment to protecting lives.
“Their actions exemplify the highest standards of public service,” the resolution states, highlighting the courage and professionalism demonstrated during the rescue.
Commissioners Greg Duckworth, Linda K. Epling, and Daniel K. Hall signed the resolution, which will be presented to both organizations as a token of appreciation from the citizens of Raleigh County.
