RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office has announced plans to increase patrols in construction zones throughout the county over the coming months in response to a growing number of safety complaints.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies have received multiple reports of drivers speeding and failing to obey flaggers directing traffic in active work areas.

In an effort to protect both road workers and the public, the department says it will enforce a “zero tolerance” policy for traffic violations in construction zones.
Drivers are urged to reduce their speed, obey all posted signage, and follow flaggers’ instructions—especially when crews are present.
“Let’s work together to keep everyone safe,” the sheriff’s office stated in a post on Facebook.
