BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A 38-year-old Beckley man has been charged with sexual abuse and child neglect following an investigation by West Virginia State Police into allegations involving a juvenile.
According to a criminal complaint, troopers responded to a residence on June 26, 2025, after receiving a report of possible sexual abuse involving a 13-year-old victim.

Authorities said the victim reported that the suspect had touched her chest under her shirt during the early morning hours.
The suspect, identified as Larry Stoumile, was interviewed by troopers on June 30.
He reportedly admitted to spending time alone with the victim and said they made multiple late-night trips to a local convenience store and later to Lake Stephens.
He claimed he had asked the victim to hide crack cocaine in her bra, which she refused. Stoumile denied placing drugs on her person or meeting anyone for a drug sale.
A forensic interview conducted with the victim provided further details.
The victim stated the suspect touched her chest under her clothes and attempted to get her to hide something at the lake. She also said he let her drive the vehicle at a local park before they returned home early that morning.
Stoumile has been charged with Sexual Abuse by parent, guardian, or custodian and Child Neglect. He is currently at Southern Regional Jail on a $50,000 bond.
