RALEIGH COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A Raleigh County man has been arrested for having an incestuous relationship with his biological daughter resulting in the birth of three children.
According to a criminal complaint, on Thursday, March 6, 43-year-old Kenneth Cook of MacArthur, was arrested and charged with sexual abuse by parent or custodian, third degree sexual assault, child neglect, and three counts of incest.
Between 2019 and March of this year, Cook participated in a non-consensual sexual relationship with his biological daughter, according to the complaint.
The incestuous relationship resulted in the birth of three children currently aged 5, 3, and 1.
The complaint states that the victim is now 21-years-old resulting in the first-born child being conceived when the victim was younger than 16-years-old, and Cook 38-years-old.
During the time, the victim and Cook were living together at the same residence.
An investigation into the circumstances began following a referral from Child Protective Services (CPS) in reference to the 1-year-old child being possibly “abused or neglected” as he was weighed six pounds at one year of age.
While receiving medical care, the medical staff was of the opinion that the 1-year-old was “extremely malnourished” and had been medically neglected due to the fact his health had continued to deteriorate.
The complaint states that Cook or the victim took steps to remedy his condition.
Also while receiving medical care, the doctor taking care of the 1-year-old at Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC) was concerned that the 1-year-old was showing characteristics “commonly seen in an incestuous relationship.”
Following the concern, genetic testing was done on all three juveniles and sent to the Mayo Clinic for further examination.
The results showed that the juvenile’s parent shared a first generational relationship, first generational being a parent or full blooded sibling.
According to the complaint, the victim has no full blooded siblings.
Cook is currently at Southern Regional Jail on a $500,000 bond.
