SOAK CREEK, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A criminal investigation was set into motion on Monday following reports of an animal neglect situation.
The Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office reports that, on Monday, February 26, 2024, Raleigh County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Raleigh County Animal Control Officers, responded to reports of a dog being neglected at Leona Drive residence in the Soak Creek area.
A search warrant for the residence was obtained by Deputies and, as a result, two dogs were seized and turned over to Raleigh County Animal Control.
The animals were transported to the Humane Society where they are currently receiving medical care.
Raleigh County Sheriff J. C. Canaday reports that a criminal investigation is now underway as a result of the incident.
