BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Raleigh County Veterans and First Responders Museum has announced that a special event recognizing donors, Beckley Area Foundation and the Academy of Careers and Technology, will be hosted this week.
The event, scheduled to take place on Friday, November 1, 2024, at 10:00am, will recognize generous donations from BAF and ACT which strengthen the mission of the museum to preserve and honor the stories of local heroes.
The new museum location at 201 South Eisenhower Drive – the former location of the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office – in Beckley will serve as the location of the event. During the event, Beckley Area Foundation will present a financial donation supporting the educational initiatives, community outreach, and facility enhancements of the museum. The contribution will also assist in the development of new exhibits celebrating the sacrifices and service of Raleigh County veterans and first responders.
The Academy of Careers and Technology will additionally present a landmark donation of a fire truck, which will serve to represent the courage of local firefighters and provide a permanent interactive exhibit to be displayed at the museum for visitors of all ages.
“We are deeply grateful to the Beckley Area Foundation and the Academy of Careers and Technology for these invaluable contributions,” said Raleigh County Veterans and First Responders Museum Board President, Ron Hedrick. “Their support allows us to continue sharing the stories of our local veterans and first responders, ensuring that future generations remember the sacrifices made for our community.”
