CALLOWAY HEIGHTS, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A domestic dispute in Calloway Heights led to the arrest of a Raleigh County woman after she allegedly attacked her boyfriend with a knife, leaving him with a laceration across his stomach.
According to a criminal complaint, officers were dispatched to a residence on Hubbard Street on December 27, 2024, following a 911 call reporting a domestic incident.
Upon arrival, officers interviewed the victim, who described a violent altercation with his girlfriend, 29-year-old Ellen Martin.
The victim reported that earlier in the evening, Martin had allegedly obtained and used heroin from his nephew.
While he was watching television, Martin began yelling at the screen, prompting him to ask her to quiet down. This request escalated into a verbal argument.
During the altercation, Martin allegedly went to the kitchen and returned with one hand concealed behind her back.
The victim stated that when he stood up from his recliner, Martin brandished a black-handled kitchen knife, approximately 6-8 inches in length, and threatened him, saying, “I’ll [expletive] kill you.”
She then cut him across his stomach, reportedly with the intent to cause bodily harm.
Officers observed a visible laceration on the victim’s stomach that was consistent with his account of the attack.
Following the incident, the victim exited the home, and a family member called 911 to report the assault.
Martin was arrested and charged with malicious wounding. She is currently at Southern Regional Jail.
