BECKLEY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Raleigh General Hospital staff and team members gathered this week for RGH’s “Kiss the Pig” in support of United Way of Southern West Virginia’s Dancing with the Stars.
“We have a physician and provider dancing for Dancing with the Stars this year. We’re so lucky to heat up the competition between the two of them,” said Raleigh General Hospital Director of Marketing and Communications, Courtney White. Both Medical Director of Trauma Services and General Surgeon at RGH, Olu Sangodeyi, MD, and Erica Shrewsbury of the RGH Wound Center and Raleigh Wellness Family Medicine will be participating in this year’s Dancing with the Stars event.
Observers assembled at the front entrance of Raleigh General Hospital on Tuesday to watch as “Babe” the pig was afforded the opportunity to be the center of attention and bring awareness to the upcoming Dancing with the Stars event, which is set to take place on Friday evening.
A total amount of $1,400.37 was raised for the United Way of Southern West Virginia with Human Resources Director, Roy Sellers, Director of Emergency Services, Adam Casto, and Chief Nursing Officer, Marsha Jamison having raised the highest individual amounts, respectively.
“Everybody was a great sport,” said White of the “Kiss the Pig” event. “We’re happy to be able to give $1,400 to United Way [of Southern West Virginia] for Dancing with the Stars. It’s always a great foundation that we’re always happy to support.”
The 2024 Dancing with the Stars event is scheduled to take place on Friday evening at the Beckley-Raleigh County Convention Center located at 200 Armory Drive in Beckley, WV.
