SCARBRO, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A community event celebrating recovery, fellowship and hope will be held this week in Fayette County as organizers prepare to kick off Recovery Month.
The Recovery Barbecue Bash is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 28, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fayette County Day Report Center, located at 908 Scarbro Road in Scarbro.
Organizers say the event will feature food, fellowship and activities while bringing together people in recovery, their families, friends, recovery supporters and other members of the community.
The main course will be provided. Guests are welcome to bring a store-bought item to share, including a side dish, snack, dessert or non-alcoholic beverage.
Donations of basic-need items for individuals and families in need will also be accepted during the event.
“Everyone is welcome,” organizers said in announcing the event, which is being held under the theme of “Recovery, Community, Hope.”
The event is made possible in part through support from Generations Behavioral Health, Harmony Ridge Recovery Center and the Fayette County Health Department.
