NICHOLAS COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A registered sex offender hired by Nicholas County Schools (NCS) is no longer with the school system as of Friday.
LOOTPRESS was made aware of the situation following several complaints sent to us by our readers.
Nicholas County Schools Superintendent Terrence Beam confirmed to LOOTPRESS Friday evening that registered sex offender, 28-year-old Devin C. Amick, has been “dismissed” from employment with NCS.
According to Nicholas County Board of Education documents, Amick was hired by the board as a custodian on June 11, 2024.
Court records show that Amick was charged with one count of Prohibiting Child Erotica in June of 2017 and accepted a plea agreement in August of that year which resulted in a suspended prison sentence and two years of probation.
The age of the victim was between the ages of 13-17.
On February 12, 2025, Amick was charged with two counts of failure to register as a sex offender with the issue being dismissed on February 20, 2025, according to available court records.
