GREER, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A motor vehicle accident involving entrapment and multiple drivers left a roadway closed to oncoming traffic on Wednesday as responders attempted to navigate the situation.
According to the Monongalia County Resources group, the Route 7 roadway near the unincorporated Monongalia County community of Greer was shut down for a time on Wednesday following an accident involving a tank truck and a smaller SUV.
It has been reported that one individual involved, a woman who was a passenger in the SUV involved, was able to successfully remove herself from the vehicle by climbing out of the window after the vehicle apparently crashed into a roadside ditch area.
A male driver was reportedly initially unable to escape the vehicle due to entrapment after his legs were pinned inside.
The tank truck involved could be seen on the opposite side of the road with at least one tire on the passenger side having gone over a guardrail.
One witness to the incident has indicated that the accident occurred after the involved SUV crossed over the yellow line on the roadway, the authorities have given no official indication as to the cause of the event. Any injuries or fatalities incurred as a result of the incident have yet to be officially confirmed by authorities at the time of writing.
Route 7 in Monongalia County was eventually reopened later in the evening following addressing of the incident by emergency responders.
