MORGANTOWN, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred Thursday morning at a CVS pharmacy in the Sabraton area.
According to the sheriff’s office, deputies responded to the CVS at approximately 9:25 a.m. after receiving a report that an individual with an active arrest warrant was at the location. While deputies were attempting to identify the subject, shots were fired.
Authorities reported that by 9:28 a.m., units on scene had contained the area.
Officials said there is no ongoing threat to the public.
The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the West Virginia State Police, the Morgantown Police Department and Monongalia County Emergency Services.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Authorities have not released additional information regarding the condition of the suspect or the identities of any personnel involved.
