WOOD COUNTY, WV (LOOTPRESS) – On May 9, a deputy from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle crash on I-77 southbound near mile marker 168.
According to the driver involved, she was traveling south when a loose tire rolled into the roadway.
She attempted to avoid the tire but was unable to, resulting in a collision that caused cosmetic damage to her front bumper and sliced the front driver’s side tire.
Her vehicle was towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.
An investigation determined the tire had come off the rear driver’s side wheel of a 2017 Ford F-350.
The pickup truck was also towed, and the loose tire was recovered with the vehicle.
A crash report was filed by the responding deputy.
