RICHWOOD, WV (LOOTPRESS) – Search efforts for a missing 62-year-old Richwood woman have been paused as investigators shift their focus to other possible locations, according to an update released Friday evening.
The Richwood Fire Department said the decision to pause the search along Greenbrier Road was made by the West Virginia State Police.
“Per the WV State Police the search for Mrs. Green on Greenbrier Road has been paused at this time. They are looking at other areas and possibilities of locations,” the department said in a statement. “We want to thank everyone that was involved in this search and was offering to help.”
The West Virginia State Police issued a Silver Alert for Mary Catherine Green, who was reported missing by her husband, Kevin Green.
Green is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall, weighing about 130 pounds, with reddish-brown hair and green eyes. She was last seen at 1618 Greenbrier Road in Richwood wearing a cream-colored sweater, gray sweatpants, plastic shoes, a gold necklace and rings on each finger.
Authorities said Green has dementia and is believed to be traveling on foot.
