HINTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A second person is charged with sexual abuse and sexual assault charges just a day after the Summers County Fire Chief was arrested on similar charges.
According to State Police, on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, an interview was conducted with Robert E. Bennett Jr., who advised that between late summer and early fall of 2020, he met with Summers County Fire Chief Brian Cale at his home in Hinton, where he engaged in sexual activities with two minors.

Bennett says that he and Brian Cale were drinking. Â He further stated that he, Cale, and the two minors were fully naked. Â He told police Cale then directed the minors to “go play” towards the suspect, and that sexual acts were performed.
Bennett also admitted that he had and did distribute several images of child porn over the course of several years, including both of the minors above.
Bennett faces charges of two counts of sexual assault, two counts of first-degree sexual abuse, and possession and distribution of child porn. Â He is currently in Southern Regional Jail under a 152,000 dollar bond.
