SILVERTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – I-77 Northbound near the Silverton area has been shut down Wednesday morning following a vehicle accident involving a U-Haul truck.
Reports from the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department Tuesday confirmed the accident, which was characterized by significant destruction including significant damage to an I-77 guardrail as well as the U-Haul truck in question, along with a white vehicle included in a photo provided in the notice.
The U-Haul truck pictured can be seen with roughly ten feet of open flame emitting from the hood of the vehicle, along with billowing clouds of dark black smoke contrasting against the backdrop of a scenic fall West Virginia skyline and mountain scape.
No injuries or fatalities have been reported as a result of the accident, and the Jackson County Sheriff’s notice appears to confirm that all involved are safe.
“I-77 North Bound near Silverton (144mm) will be shut down for the foreseeable future,” read the notice. “Please make alternative routing plans.
Details regarding the nature of the accident, as well as the involvement of the white vehicle pictured, have not yet been provided at this time.
