The No. 3-seeded Crusaders exploded for 12 runs in the fourth inning to beat No. 6 seed Montcalm 18-3 in five innings to open Class A Region 3, Section 1 tournament action.
Hunter Crist picked up the win going four innings, allowing one hit, no runs and striking out 12 Generals.
Crist also hit a home run among his three hits and drove in two runs.
Eli Gunter had two doubles, two singles and scored four times, while Kolton Harper had two hits and three RBI.
Kellen Heffernan had a double and drove in three runs. Kaden Bolen had two hits and two RBI.
Greater Beckley is scheduled to play at No. 2 seed Summers County Thursday at 6 p.m.
