CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin (I-WV) has joined a resolution recognizing June as LGBTQ Pride Month.
According to a press release from Sen. Manchin, on Thursday, Sen. Manchin joined his colleagues in introducing a Senate resolution recognizing June 2024 as LGBTQ Pride Month.
The resolution recognizes the contributions LGBTQ Americans have made to the country and highlights major milestones in the fight for equal treatment under the law, according to Manchin.
“I’m proud to join my colleagues in introducing this resolution to shine a light on the stories and achievements of LGBTQ West Virginians and Americans,” said Manchin.
“Last Congress, I was proud to join a bipartisan majority in the Senate to codify the Respect for Marriage Act and protect Americans’ freedom to love who they love. No one understands love of family like West Virginians.”
