MARTINSBURG, WV (LOOTPRESS) – A months-long investigation into illegal drug activity in Martinsburg resulted in a major seizure of drugs, firearms, vehicles, and cash, according to authorities.
The Martinsburg Police Department Detective Bureau, along with the department’s Drug Intelligence Response Team (D.I.R.T.), had been investigating suspected drug operations for several months.
The investigation culminated on Friday, March 13, when multiple law enforcement agencies executed a search warrant at a residence on Rock Cliff Drive.
The Martinsburg Police Department’s Special Response Team (SRT) was assisted by the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team during the operation.
“Due to the nature of the investigation and potential safety concerns, specialized tactical teams were utilized to ensure the safe and effective execution of the warrant,” according to a press release from the MPD.
During the search, officers seized approximately two kilograms of cocaine, one kilogram of pressed fentanyl pills, and about two ounces of crack cocaine.
Authorities also recovered roughly $200,000 in cash, six vehicles, and 60 firearms.
Investigators said they also located additional items commonly associated with drug trafficking operations.
As a result of the operation, three individuals were taken into custody and are facing charges related to the possession and distribution of illegal narcotics.
Officials said the case remains part of an ongoing effort involving multiple agencies targeting drug activity in the region.
